Mission Statement

The NAWCC School of Horology is dedicated to preparing students for entry into the horological business field. The School endeavors to preserve established horological knowledge while encouraging horological research. Through training in traditional and modern repair techniques the NAWCC School of Horology prepares students for successful careers in watchmaking and clockmaking and restoration and repair.

About the School

The NAWCC School of Horology is a leader in watch and clock repair education. Founded in 1995, the School offers diverse curricula in all facets of timekeeping.

Horology is an exciting career choice. School of Horology graduates work for some of the world’s leading companies and operate independent service and repair businesses.

The School of Horology is part of the National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors, Inc. (NAWCC), a nonprofit educational association of 19,000 members worldwide. The NAWCC national campus includes the School, NAWCC administration, the National Watch and Clock Museum, the Library and Research Center, and the NAWCC Publications Department, publishers of Watch & Clock Bulletin, The MART (a buy sell trade magazine), and numerous books and supplements.

The NAWCC’s Museum and Library and Research Center are available to students as resources for research and inspiration. Students browse through the Museum’s collection of more than 12,000 timepieces; peruse the Library’s collection of books, articles, magazines, and archives; and reference the Association’s many publications.

The School of Horology is located in Columbia, PA, along the east bank of the Susquehanna River. Columbia, a town with a population of more than 10,000, dates from the early 1700s. Today, it’s a thriving, eclectic community. It’s located about 13 miles west of Lancaster City, PA, and 14 miles east of York, PA. Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Harrisburg are easy day trips from Columbia.
